Until the Russians attacked on Feb. 24, Anna would watch the hustle and bustle of a city with 6 million people from her balcony, which offers a sprawling view of Kyiv’s skyline with silhouettes of high-rise buildings, high-tech business centers, cathedrals and historical landmarks. The city has been reduced to near silence for the past week.
